Ahead of the fast approaching 2023 elections, stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ijebu North East local government area of Ogun State met on Friday, 2nd of September, 2022 to discuss the roadmap to victory.
The meeting, which was convened by the Party chairman in the local government; Aremo Temitope Ashiru had in attendance notable party leaders from the ten wards in the local government which included; Chief Sunday Adewale, Otunba Gbolade Osunkoya (Baba Liberty), Hon. Tola Oguntuga, Hon. Tola Timehin, Alhaja Adenike Asorona (Ogun east senatorial women leader), Alhaja Oriyomi Shonibare (Assistant treasurer, Ogun State PDP), Chief Adebambo, Oresanya, Mr. Abdulwasiu Idris, Chief Tunde Oresanya, Mr. Ebenezer Adebiyi, Prince Wole Otenaike among others. It was also gathered that five leaders from each of the wards, local government executives and state executives of the party from the local government were invited to the meeting.
The chairman, Aremo Ashiru Temitope in his address, enjoined the party faithful to put behind whatever rancour that emerged from the conduct and outcome of the primary elections. He said it is imperative to priortize the interest of the party now and work in unison to achieve the common goal of returning the PDP to power at all levels in Ogun State.
He explained that division and in-fighting will only cause damage to the chances of the party and appealed to all stakeholders to be focused on the primary assignment – which is to work for the victory of the party.
Matters arising from the conduct and outcome of the primary elections were also discussed with amicable solutions proffered. It was unanimously agrees upon that the success of the party in the next election year is paramount and as such, unity and sincerity of purpose is the key to achieve this feat.
