Counsels Ogun APC On Tolerance

House of Representatives candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Barrister Taiwo Shote (a.k.a Pepe) has condemned the destruction of his campaign billboards and posters by suspected agents of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state.

Yesterday (Sunday, 15th of January, 2023), hoodlums believed to be APC loyalists in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun state destroyed Shote’s campaign billboards and posters.

Reacting to the ugly development, Shote condemned the destruction of his campaign billboards and posters by those he described as intolerant politicians.

He accused the APC of allegedly being behind the destruction of his campaign materials, adding that such a development was unhealthy for the polity.

Shote noted that the development followed fresh cases of destruction of campaign billboards and posters belonging to candidates of the PDP.

The lawyer-turned politician wondered why anyone would resort to destruction of campaign materials instead of promoting their candidates, policies and programmes.

He called on the Police, State Security Service and other security agencies to brace up to the challenge and stem the tide before it gets out of hand.

Shote urged those behind the shameful acts to desist from such and respect the rights of the citizens to freely associate and hold opinions as enshrined in the Constitution.
