With the official announcement of the election result on Tuesday, 28th of February, 2023, it was clear that the people have had their say. The overriding beauty of democracy is the concept of majority view. As a democrat which Rt. Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya is, he is of the firm opinion that no matter how unpalatable it may seem, the decision of the majority always prevail.

Attacker as fondly called, believes that electoral process remains the barometer to measure the people’s will in a democracy. Hence, his acceptance of the result in good faith. In Ogun state today, he is clearly the only House of Reps candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who is not challenging the election result at the tribunal.

He served and he is letting others do same without any form of obstruction which could deter them from delivering on their primary assignments, as he hands over the baton of effective and people-based representation.

He may not have won the election but the truth is, he won the hearts of the good people of Ijebu North, Ijebu East & Ogun Waterside through his enviable style of leadership and unrivalled performance as a federal legislator. Whenever and wherever his name is mentioned, what comes to mind is quality representation, as testified to, by the entire people of the gateway state.

As he bows out of the green chambers in grand style, we’ll like to run through some of the jaw-breaking and monumental projects facilitated by the Aremo of Ebumawe. They include but not limited to;

• Construction of the AKO COMMUNITY CENTRE, Ako, Ago-Iwoye (Ongoing).
• Renovation of a block of 4 classrooms at Japara High School, Ijebu Igbo.
• A block of 3 classrooms at L A Primary School, Lagada, Atikori, Ijebu Igbo.
• A block of three classrooms at Ladugbo grammar school, Oke Agbo, Ijebu Igbo.
• Construction of a three classroom at Moslem Primary School, Ijebu Ife.
• Construction of a block of 3 classroom at Moslem Primary School, Ikija.
• Construction of 20 open stall shops at Ijebu-Mushin market.
• Construction of 20 Open stall shops at Atikori Market, Ijebu Igbo.
• Construction and equipping of a block of 3 classrooms at St. Rose Primary School, Tekule Village, Awa.
• Construction of modern abbatoir with motorized borehole at Igan Road, Ago Iwoye.
• Rehabilitation of Federal Road, Ilishan – Ago-Iwoye.
• Construction of Ultra Modern toilet at Obada Market, Ijebu Igbo.
• Ongoing Construction of the Multi-Million Naira MADAM EFUNSE’KE INTERNATIONAL INFERTILITY AND MATERNITY HOSPITAL (An Annex of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta), AKO, Ago-Iwoye These are just few of the numerous projects facilitated by the Deputy Minority Whip of the Federal House of Representatives (9TH ASSEMBLY). Aside these, he sponsored bills, facilitated road projects, initiated several empowerment programs for the youths. The popular Ijebu North Marathon race of fully sponsored by Aremo Ebumawe. When we say history will be kind to him, it is not just a mere sentence.
