Not less than nine students from the public secondary schools in Ijebu Igbo, Ijebu north local government area of Ogun state have emerged winners of the 2023 scholarship scheme inspired by Eleyun Charitable Organization.

The nine beneficiaries (one from each school) emerged from Molusi College, Ijebu Igbo Girls’ Grammar School, Beje High School, Japara High School, Keegbo Community Comprehensive College, Sopen Comprehensive High School, Abusi Odumare Academy, Ladugbo Community High School.

While other schools got a slot each, Beje High School, being the alma mata of the Founder, got two.

The nine beneficiaries include;

Adeyemi Funmilayo Deborah – Molusi College

Okebiolorunosi Blessing Lydia – Ijebu Igbo Girls’ Grammar School

Sodiq Imoleayo Elizabeth – Japara High School

Alausa Ayomitope Faruq – Ladugbo Community High School

Shipe Kehinde – Olokinne High School

Ayoola Mathew Idowu – Kegbo Community Comprehensive High School

Afolabi Modinat Eniola – Beje High School

Mustapha Idowu Gafar – Abusi Odumare Academy

Arole Opemipo Olaitan – Beje High School

All beneficiaries are currently in Junior Secondary School 2 and were presented with brand new school bags, school uniform, notebooks, textbooks, mathematical set and other writing materials.

Explaining why the students are picked in J S S 2 class, the Founder, Hon. Adetayo Adenaike said the organization plans to cater for their education from their current class until they obtain their Senior Secondary School Certificate. He further said after sitting for their WAEC, the overall best three students will be sponsored by the organization for their tertiary education.

He said he was passionate about the future of these young children who are leaders of tomorrow and it is paramount to ensure that they get educated, most importantly, supporting the indigents among them.

The beneficiaries were presented with an engagement letter, wherein it was stated that the only thing the organization needs is their focus and positive attitude to their academics. Failure to fulfill their part of this responsibility could lead to withdrawal of the scholarship and given to another student in the same school and class, this is as contained in the letter. The Founder noted that constant visits would be paid to each of the schools to check on the academic performance of the student.

Reacting, the parents took turns to express their overwhelming appreciation to Eleyun Charitable organization. One of the parents, Mrs. Afolabi showered prayers and encomiums on the organization, noting that this would further boost the morale of her child academically as she has been struggling and doing all sorts of menial jobs in to cater for the child’s education. She promised to do everything expected of her, as a parent, in ensuring that the scholarship is judiciously put to use.
