The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have announced a nationwide strike scheduled to begin on November 14, 2023.

This decision was reached during a meeting of the National Executive Council of both unions in Abuja.

The strike comes in response to the assault on the NLC National President, Joe Ajaero, during a protest in Imo State.

Organized Labor accused Imo state commissioner of police, Mohammed Barde, of participating in the attack and called for his replacement within a five-day ultimatum.

Additionally, Governor Hope Uzodimma was implicated in the attack, but he denied any involvement.
