The Minister of Labour and Employment, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong, has resigned from the Federal Executive Council to pursue a seat in the Senate.
His decision follows the Court of Appeal’s affirmation of his victory in the Plateau South Senatorial election.
Lalong will await President Bola Tinubu’s decision before formally proceeding to the Senate.
The move is seen as a strategic step to support Tinubu’s presidential aspirations, and a replacement for the minister in the federal cabinet is anticipated.
