Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, faces sharp criticism from the All Progressives Congress (APC) for reportedly spending N1 billion on the refurbishment of the Government House.

Governor Adeleke recently inaugurated the newly-renovated Government House in Osogbo, with high-ranking officials and dignitaries attending the inspection of the upgraded facilities.

According to Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the rehabilitation project includes the main house, the completion of an abandoned multi-bedroom guest house, remodeling of various structures, repair of derelict facilities, and a facelift for the entire Government House.

In response, the APC, represented by its state Chairman, Kola Olabisi, criticized the move, labeling it a misplaced priority.

Olabisi lamented, “It is regrettable that Governor Adeleke chose to flaunt the Government House’s refurbishment, costing N1 billion, during such austere times, especially when Osun State is grappling with widespread poverty, earning it the unfortunate title of the corporate headquarters of poverty in Yorubaland.”
