Reports emerged on Monday afternoon of masked gunmen invading the Idowa community within the Odogbolu Local Government area of Ogun State, resulting in the abduction of Tunde Osifowokan, the farm manager at Flourishing Poultry Farm.

Osifowokan, who happens to be the younger brother of the farm owner, was taken captive during the incident.

Additionally, concerns have been raised about another individual, Isiaka Aileru, a member of the Hausa community in the town, who has been missing since he visited his farm on the same day.

Sources suggest that Aileru might have also fallen victim to the same gunmen.

The gunmen reportedly executed their operation in a swift and coordinated manner, arriving at the farm and demanding to see the owner, who was absent at the time but expected to return later in the day.

In the absence of the owner, when none of the workers dared to respond due to fear, Osifowokan bravely identified himself as the younger brother of the farm owner, prompting the gunmen to seize him.

Chief Yusuf Olusanya, the Sobaloju of Idowa, confirmed the incident, detailing the chaotic scene where the gunmen, masked and armed, arrived and began shooting indiscriminately.

Despite police intervention from various quarters, including Idowa, Odogbolu, and the Area Commander from Ijebu-Ode, there have been no reports of ransom demands from the abductors.

Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, confirmed the abduction, assuring the public of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to secure Osifowokan’s release.

Alamutu urged patience, indicating that formal complaints would be processed if necessary, allowing for a more coordinated response to the situation.
