The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) staged a protest at the Labour Party secretariat, denouncing the party’s upcoming national convention slated for the month’s end. Central to their demands was the immediate removal of National Chairman Julius Abure.
NLC leaders criticized Abure for orchestrating a convention without consulting key stakeholders, branding it as clandestine. This move has drawn opposition from both the NLC and the House of Representatives caucus.
Accusing Abure of a deliberate attempt to undermine the Labour Party, the workers adamantly called for his dismissal.
Despite their protest, the Nigeria Police Force barred the workers from accessing the party secretariat.
