A man, identified as Remi, tragically lost his life in the Ijeun Titun area of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State during a heated altercation over a loan.

According to an anonymous source, tensions escalated early Saturday when individuals suspected to be loan enforcers confronted Remi, leading to a confrontation with three individuals – Seyi, Ayeke, and Bado. The altercation turned fatal when Remi was stabbed in the neck.

The severity of the wound resulted in significant blood loss, ultimately leading to Remi’s demise.

Upon realizing the gravity of the situation, Seyi and Ayeke fled the scene, leaving Bado apprehended by community members and subsequently handed over to the police.

The source revealed, “Seyi is now wanted by the Ijeun Titun Community for his alleged role in conspiring with others to fatally stab Remi during the dispute over a loan repayment.”

Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, stated that investigations are underway, emphasizing the commitment to ensure justice prevails.

“A case of suspected murder was reported at a divisional police station in Abeokuta. Remilekun Omotayo was fatally stabbed in the neck over a minor dispute regarding a loan. Our investigation is ongoing, and anyone found culpable will face legal consequences,” Odutola affirmed.
