Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, alongside key members of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State for the 2023 general elections, have announced their allegiance and backing for President Bola Tinubu and the state’s incumbent governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Dr. Abiye Sekibo, former Minister of Transportation and Director-General of PDP-PCC Rivers State, conveyed this declaration during a press conference held in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

The event saw the presence of prominent figures such as Secondus himself, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara, Celestine Omehia, former deputy governor in the state Tele Ikuru, Senator Lee Maeba, and former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, among others.

Notably, the council had thrown its weight behind the PDP’s presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, in the previous electoral cycle.
