In a shocking incident, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers launched an attack on a Celestial Church in Ogun State, seizing two worshippers identified as Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola.

The abduction took place near Oriyarin village, Mowe, situated in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State on Thursday.

According to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, the assailants escaped through a dense forest behind the church.

In response to the incident, SP Omolola Odutola stated, “Suspected kidnapping: Report at my disposal reveals that on 28/3/2024, unidentified gunmen invaded a Celestial Church around Oriyarin village Mowe and abducted one Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola and escaped through the thick forest behind the church.”

Commissioner of Police Alamutu Abiodun has been briefed on the situation and has ordered the immediate mobilization of security personnel to pursue the perpetrators.
