The Ikenne branch of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (Ogun state chapter) held her election which ushered in new executives to pilot the affairs of the Youth Council in the local government.
The election commenced promptly at 11:00 am on April 17, 2024.
The Returning Officer, Comrade Olawale Senbadejo, initiated the proceedings by providing an orientation to the participants and inquiring about their manifestos for the positions they aspired to. He urged those contesting key positions to address all the youths present at the program.
Notably, this election marked a historic milestone as the first of its kind in Ikenne Local Government.
The Department of State Services (DSS), the Police Department, Youth Officers from both the State and Local Government, Directors, Assistant Directors, and the Head of Community Officer were all in attendance. The representatives of the Ikenne Local Government Chairman was duly noted, with the Director and Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) present.
The Returning Officer, Comrade Olawale Senbadejo, a former Deputy Chairman of the Ogun State NYCN, presided over the proceedings.
The presence and active involvement of key figures such as the representative of Oloye Akolawole Shoremi, the State Chairman, Comrade Akinyemi Adeola, Vice Chairman of Ogun East NYCN, contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the election.
Comrade Okikiola, the State Auditor, served as the observer, while Comrade Oluwabunmi Ajibola, the Organizing Secretary of Ogun East, diligently performed her duties.
The newly elected executive members are as follows:

- Comrade Ibrahim Adeyemi – Secretary
- Comrade Oluwafemi Osikoya – Assistant Secretary
- Comrade Samuel O. Lawal – Treasurer
- Comrade Odunayo Rahman – Financial Secretary
- Comrade Ibidapo Obasanya – Public Relations Officer
- Comrade Nurudeen Odubitan – Social Secretary
- Comrade Wunmi Okulaja – Program Officer
- Comrade Femi Awoyomi – Legal Adviser
Former NYCN Deputy Chairman in Ogun state; Comrade Senbadejo Olawale and the Vice Chairman offered words of advice to the newly elected executives. The documents were signed by representatives from DSS, Police, Youth and Sports, Eleco Chairman, and the Returning Officer.
