Reports confirm the arrest of Mukaila Lamidi, famously known as Auxiliary, by the Department of State Services (DSS). The arrest took place around 4:00 pm on Tuesday at his residence in Ibadan’s Olodo area.
Although the specific grounds for his arrest remain undisclosed, sources hint at his recent interview where he implicated Seye Famojuro, a close associate of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, in his predicaments.
During the interview conducted in Yoruba by journalist Ajibola Akinyefa, Auxiliary challenged Famojuro’s authority and predicted repercussions for his actions, emphasizing his commitment to remaining in Ibadan, unlike Famojuro.
This arrest follows previous incidents in May 2023 when Auxiliary was apprehended due to his alleged involvement in inciting unrest following the dissolution of the Park Management System committee by Governor Makinde.
Authorities acted swiftly then to forestall any disorder, leading to Auxiliary’s evasion and subsequent declaration as a fugitive.
Efforts to reach DSS spokesperson Peter Afunnaya for comment proved futile, as calls remained unanswered and messages unacknowledged.
