In the dawn of the 2023/2024 academic session, the Eleyun Charitable Organization, led by the visionary CEO, Hon. Adetayo Adenaike (commonly known as Tayo Eleyun), embarked on a noble journey to illuminate the path of education for those most in need.

The initiative was tailored for indigent students demonstrating not only a positive attitude towards education but also outstanding academic performance. Selected from various secondary schools in Ijebu Igbo, the ten beneficiaries exemplified unwavering dedication to their studies.

The scholarship package extended beyond mere tuition fees, encompassing essential resources such as subject textbooks, notebooks, two sets of school uniforms per student, school bags, and other writing materials. For these JSS 2 students, the support promised by the organization would span their entire secondary education, with a commitment to aiding the three among them who excel in their WAEC exams to further their studies at a university, polytechnic, or college of their choice.

The roster of beneficiaries reads as follows:

  1. Adeyemi Funmilayo Deborah – Molusi College
  2. Okebiolorunosi Blessing Lydia – Ijebu Igbo Girls’ Grammar School
  3. Sodiq Imoleayo Elizabeth – Japara High School
  4. Alausa Ayomitope Faruq – Ladugbo Community High School
  5. Shipe Kehinde – Olokinne High School
  6. Ayoola Mathew Idowu – Kegbo Community Comprehensive High School
  7. Afolabi Modinat Eniola – Beje High School
  8. Mustapha Idowu Gafar – Abusi Odumare Academy
  9. Arole Opemipo Olaitan – Beje High School
  10. Joshua Ayomide – Beje High School

This monumental stride has endowed the beneficiaries with the invaluable gift of education, a testament to the kindness and generosity of the Eleyun Charitable Organization. Additionally, the organization extended its support to three indigent pupils from St. John’s A/C School, Oke Agbo, Ijebu Igbo, furthering its mission to combat the issue of out-of-school children due to financial constraints faced by their parents or guardians.

Since the inception of the program, parents and guardians of the beneficiaries have expressed sincere gratitude, while the students themselves have pledged to seize the golden opportunity provided by the Eleyun Charitable Organization and make the most of it.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
