Convicted billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, and his co-defendant Joseph Emeka, have opted for a plea bargain in their ongoing legal battle. They are charged with murder and attempted kidnapping.
The state lead counsel, Mr. Yusuf Sule, informed the court about the plea bargain option on Thursday when the case was called for re-arraignment.
The re-arraignment took place before Justice Adenike Coker at the Ikeja High Court. Evans and his co-defendant face an amended five-count charge, including murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit felony, kidnapping, and attempted kidnapping.
Sule noted that while the case was scheduled for re-arraignment, he was aware the defendants had applied for a plea bargain. The prosecutor added that the plea bargain terms were under consideration by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN).
