Lola Disu and her son, Ahmed Disu, have been remanded at Kirikiri Prison, Lagos, following their arraignment for allegedly stealing office property valued at over N122 million belonging to Uccas Resources Ltd.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos ordered their remand after the duo were arraigned by the police on a 14-count charge of theft.
According to the charges, Lola, Ahmed, and others at large, allegedly conspired to steal property from Uccas Resources Ltd on June 25, 2021, at 16 Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Magboro Bus Stop, Ikeja, Lagos. The company is represented by its Managing Director, Ukata Christian.
Additionally, the duo is accused of forging a court order with the inscription “possession taken by court order on June 25, 2021,” intending to use it against Uccas Resources Ltd and its Managing Director, Ukata Christian.
The stolen items allegedly include computers, office chairs and tables, air conditioners, printers, scanners, copiers, industrial water filters, heaps of undistributed cargo news publications, confidential documents, midgets, internet routers, a 2.9kva generator, and fans, among other office properties.
One of the charges reads: “That you, Lola Disu (female) and Ahmed Disu (male), on the same date, time, and place, within the aforesaid judicial division, did steal office properties from the reception desk including: reception tables with drawers valued at N650,000, reception chairs valued at N71,000, computers (CPU, monitor, and printer; all HP Pavilion Tower Computers) valued at N861,000, HP 5-in-1 printer, scanner, and copier valued at N73,000, intercom connected to all offices valued at N5,000, office main line with handset valued at N45,000, and a visitors memo booklet valued at N700, with the total value of property amounting to N1.705 million, property of Uccas Resources Ltd, represented by Ukata Christian, the Managing Director.”
