The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Sagamu Youth Association (SYA) has officially announced the dissolution of the association’s executive council. The council, led by Comrade Sikiru Segun (Success), served from March 2021 to March 2024.

The BoT extended its congratulations to the outgoing executive council for successfully completing their term. The council was praised for its selfless service to the community and for building on the achievements of previous administrations. Despite facing challenges, they maintained the association’s integrity and achieved notable successes.

Special commendation was given to Comrade Sikiru Segun (Success) for his leadership, commitment and service to the community with his contributions deemed to have left a lasting impact on the SYA leadership.

This decision follows directives from the Akarigbo of Remo land, HRM, Oba (Barr.) Babatunde Ajayi ILUFEMILOYE 1, who called for the harmonization of various youth groups in Sagamu under the SYA. With the current executive council’s tenure expired, the BoT, guided by constitutional provisions, has dissolved the council to facilitate this process.

To ensure continuous leadership, the BoT has appointed a Transition/Constitution Review Committee to serve for 30 days. This committee will oversee the formation of a harmonized executive council. The committee members are:

  1. Com. Razak Ashaye – Chairman
  2. Com. Ogunkoya Henry – Member
  3. Com. Olumide Oluwasogo – Member
  4. Com. Ogundunmiye Bukonla Adebayo – Secretary
  5. Com. Abimbola Adesanya – Member
  6. Com. Tunji Ajayi – Member
  7. Com. Akande Ifedayo – Member

Their terms of reference and appointment letters will be provided shortly.

The BoT assures all stakeholders that a robust and unified youth leadership team will soon be established, furthering Sagamu’s prosperity.
