President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, according to UnidosUS President and CEO Janet Murguía.

Biden, who was scheduled to speak at the UnidosUS conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday night, shared the news in a phone call with Murguía.

“I was just on the phone with President Biden. He expressed his deep disappointment at not being able to join us this afternoon. The president has been attending many events recently and has just tested positive for COVID,” Murguía told attendees.

Biden, 81, had been expected to take the stage an hour and a half prior to the announcement.

The White House has confirmed the diagnosis, stating that the President is experiencing mild symptoms.
