The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum has vowed to reclaim all leadership positions currently held by other political parties. This pledge was made by the Forum’s Chairman, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, during the forum’s meeting at the Government House in Enugu on Wednesday.
Governor Mohammed emphasized the significance of the meeting, describing it as a historic and ambitious event for the party. “We are here to unify ourselves, discuss issues affecting the party, and address various internal matters,” he stated.
The agenda for the meeting included governance across party administrations, inter-party affairs, and preparations for future congresses. The governors also discussed strategies to offer credible alternatives to Nigerians.
The meeting brought together PDP governors and other key party stakeholders, including members of the national working committee and various party organs. Governor Mohammed expressed concern about the current national trajectory, suggesting it was leading towards anarchy. “We will not allow that because we share history and aspirations for Nigerians,” he said, emphasizing the need for the party to reclaim leadership in all states currently governed by other parties.
Governor Mohammed also praised Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State for hosting the meeting and for his hospitality.
The meeting had several governors in attendance, including Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), and Dauda Lawal (Zamfara). Ahmed Fintiri (Adamawa) and Douye Diri (Bayelsa) were also present, alongside the host governor, Peter Mbah of Enugu State.
