The Sagamu Youth Association (SYA), through its president, Comrade Olugbenga Lawal, popularly known as Ambassador Easy, has called on the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) to urgently restore power to Sagamu town. The SYA also highlighted the dire need for attention to the faulty T4 60MVA transformer that has been out of operation for over a month.

In a letter addressed to the Supervisor of Sagamu/Remo Transmission Station, Engr. John, the youth group expressed concern over the negative impact the power outage has had on local businesses and residents. According to Ambassador Easy, the lack of electricity has left small businesses struggling to afford alternative energy sources, while households have faced increased hardship as their quality of life deteriorates.

“We respectfully seek urgent attention regarding the T4 60MVA Transformer serving Sagamu Town. The prolonged outage has disrupted small-scale business operations and caused undue hardship for residents,” read part of the letter, which was released by the association’s media team.

The SYA urged the TCN and IBEDC to intervene promptly and restore stable power to Sagamu. The letter was also copied to the TCN Osogbo Region, IBEDC, and the Sagamu Local Government Area Authorities, calling for a coordinated effort to resolve the issue.
