The Director-General of the Local Government Election Campaign Team for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Sagamu Local Government, Asiwaju Ayorinde Babatunde (popularly known as Fabregas), has officially resigned from his position.

Instant News recalls that Fabregas was appointed in 2021 when the state leadership of the PDP entrusted him with the responsibility of leading the party’s campaign in Sagamu Local Government for the 2021 elections.

In a resignation letter personally signed by him and obtained by our correspondent on Saturday, October 12, 2024, Fabregas expressed his deep appreciation for the opportunity to serve, highlighting the collective achievements of the campaign team in promoting the party’s mission. He also maintained his staunch support for the party, stating that his departure from the role is not a departure from the party’s mission. Below is the full text of his resignation:

“I, Asiwaju Ayorinde Babatunde (a.k.a Fabregas), hereby formally resign from my position as Director-General of the Local Government Election Campaign Team for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Sagamu Local Government.

Serving in this role has been an honor, and I take immense pride in the progress we have made together as a team in advancing the values and mission of our party. However, after much reflection, I believe the time has come for me to step aside and explore other opportunities.

I am deeply grateful for the trust and support extended to me by the leadership of the PDP. I remain a committed supporter of the party and look forward to seeing the continued success of our shared goals.

Thank you once again for this remarkable opportunity.”

Yours sincerely,

Asiwaju Ayorinde Babatunde (Fabregas)
