The state chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Ogun State Chapter, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, has expressed profound sadness over the demise of Rt. Hon. Otunba Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (fondly known as Ijaya), the honorable member representing Remo Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives and Deputy Chief Whip of the House.

Rt. Hon. Onanuga, a seasoned legislator and compassionate leader, passed away yesterday after a brief illness, leaving a significant void in Ogun State’s political and social landscape. Known for her selfless service, she facilitated numerous projects and empowerment programs for the people of Remo and beyond. Her contributions to the development of her constituency and her unwavering commitment to the people earned her the admiration of many.

In his condolence message, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya described the late Hon. Onanuga as a visionary leader, a compassionate legislator and a bridge-builder whose legacy of service will forever remain etched in the hearts of the people. He noted that her death is a great loss not only to Remo Federal Constituency but also to Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.

“Rt. Hon. Onanuga was a rare gem and a leader with a human face. Her exemplary dedication to improving the lives of her constituents and her outstanding achievements as Deputy Chief Whip will continue to inspire generations. As the Yeye Oba of Makun, she exemplified leadership rooted in culture, tradition and service,” Otunba Sokoya stated.

He further condoled with the bereaved family, friends, political allies and business associates of the deceased, praying for the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“As we mourn this irreplaceable icon, let us also celebrate her impactful life and the indelible marks she left on the sands of time. May Almighty God grant her eternal rest and comfort all those she has left behind,” he added.

Finally, the transport union leader called on the people of Remo and Ogun State to uphold the values and vision of the late legislator as a way of honoring her memory.
