A staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun state, Asiwaju Ayorinde Babatunde (a.k.a FABREGAS) has joined in mourning the death of Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (a.k.a IJAYA), the member representing Remo Federal constituency at the Federal House of Representatives and the Deputy Chief Whip of the house.

The death news of ‘IJAYA’ filtered in yesterday afternoon, 15th of January, 2025, after a briedf illness.

In a heartfelt condolence message, Asiwaju Ayorinde Babatunde expressed profound grief over the loss of the beloved legislator.

The statement partly reads, “Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga was a leader with a genuine heart for the people. Her unwavering commitment to the development of Remo Federal Constituency, her impactful legislative contributions and her numerous empowerment programs stand as a testament to her selfless service,” Fabregas stated.

He further described the deceased as a rare gem whose remarkable achievements as a legislator earned her widespread respect and admiration. “As the Yeye Oba of Makun, she epitomized grace, strength, and service. Her passion for the well-being of her constituents was evident in every aspect of her leadership,” he added.

Asiwaju Ayorinde extended his heartfelt condolences to Rt. Hon. Onanuga’s family, friends, political allies, business associates and the good people of Remoland. He prayed for divine strength and comfort for all who are mourning this great loss.

“This is a dark moment for Remo and Ogun State as a whole. We have lost a true gem and a visionary leader who dedicated her life to improving the lives of others. May Almighty God grant her eternal rest and give us the fortitude to uphold her legacy,” he concluded.
