In a bid to promote transparency and accountability, the Federal Government has launched a series of ministerial press briefings to update Nigerians on key policies and developments.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced this initiative during a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday. According to him, President Bola Tinubu has mandated all ministers to periodically engage with the media, providing insights into their respective ministries’ activities and addressing public concerns.

“The briefings will serve as a direct channel for ministers to communicate with Nigerians, outline progress, and respond to pressing national issues,” Idris stated. He further explained that the briefings would be held weekly, with different ministers taking turns to address the nation.

This initiative comes as Tinubu’s administration approaches its second anniversary, reinforcing its commitment to openness and citizen engagement.
