As Nigerians prepare for the 2027 general elections, former Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has intensified consultations with key political figures.
Jandor, who recently resigned from the PDP, met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, sparking speculation about his next political move. His visit to the President follows a series of high-profile meetings with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former President Ibrahim Babangida, former Head of State Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, and the 2023 Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo.
Confirming the development, Jandor’s spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, stated:
“Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor) met with President Bola Tinubu on Monday as part of his ongoing consultations following his resignation from the PDP. He has also engaged in discussions with Atiku Abubakar, Ibrahim Babangida, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, and Prince Adewole Adebayo, among other national figures.”
Meanwhile, PDP leaders, including the party’s National Secretary, have reached out to Jandor in an attempt to persuade him to reconsider his decision to leave the party.
As political observers speculate on his next move, Jandor is set to meet with his political associates and key stakeholders in Lagos over the weekend. He is expected to address the media on Monday, March 17, 2025, where he may clarify his future political direction.
