Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 25-year-old man, Samson Oghenebreme, for allegedly transporting human organs from Edo State to Lagos for use in money-making rituals.
According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspect was apprehended on April 25, 2025, in the Odomola community of Epe following credible intelligence from members of the public who observed his suspicious movements.
“Operatives of the Odo-Noforija Division arrested one Samson Oghenebreme, aged 25, in Odomola community, Epe, for being in possession of human organs,” the statement read. “Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was transporting the organs from Edo State to a native doctor for ritual purposes.”
The recovered organs have been deposited at the General Hospital in Epe for preservation, while the case has been transferred to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the swift action of the police operatives and the vigilance of the local community, noting that timely information sharing was instrumental in the suspect’s arrest.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station, assuring the public of the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents across Lagos State.
