The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that by-elections will be held in various constituencies across the country on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

The elections are being conducted to fill vacant seats in both the National and State Houses of Assembly. These vacancies have resulted from resignations, deaths, and court-ordered annulments.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, made the disclosure on Thursday during a consultative meeting with political party leaders at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
