The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has temporarily shut down its online result checker portal, citing technical issues as the reason for the disruption.
In a statement issued on Wednesday evening, the Head of Public Affairs for WAEC Nigeria, Mrs. Moyosola Adesina, assured the public that the issue is being addressed and that access to the portal will be restored within 24 hours.
“WAEC Nigeria hereby informs the general public that the result checker portal @waecdirect.org is temporarily shut down due to technical issues,” the statement read.
“However, the Council is working assiduously to ensure that candidates are able to access their results within the next 24 hours. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
WAEC urged candidates and stakeholders to remain patient as efforts are underway to fully restore the service.
