The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced plans to blacklist renowned Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 de Ultimate, from flying within Nigeria for six months following alleged misconduct at the domestic terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA, Mr. Michael Achimugu, disclosed this on Thursday during a press briefing in Abuja.

“What I must assure the general public is that everyone involved in this incident will be held accountable,” Achimugu said. “As we speak, the passenger will be blacklisted from flying in Nigeria for the next six months.”

He emphasized that aviation regulations are internationally binding and must be adhered to for the safety of all, regardless of a person’s status.

“These rules are global, and they exist to protect everyone. No one is above the law. We will thoroughly investigate the matter, and anyone found culpable will face appropriate sanctions,” he added.

Achimugu further revealed that the NCAA is in the process of writing to the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police to initiate legal proceedings against the musician.

When asked whether K1’s close relationship with President Bola Tinubu could shield him from legal consequences, Achimugu dismissed such concerns, stating that both the President and the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, are committed to upholding the rule of law.
