The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ratified the suspension of Senator Gbenga Daniel and Hon. Kunle Folarin over alleged anti-party activities.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) chaired by the State Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, on Tuesday, August 19, with sixteen members in attendance.
According to a statement signed by the party’s Director of Publicity, Nuberu Olufemi, the suspensions followed recommendations from Disciplinary Committees set up in Ward 4 and Ward 6 of Sagamu Local Government to investigate allegations of misconduct against the two party chieftains.
The statement explained that the affected members were formally invited to appear before the Committees to defend themselves or seek pardon, but they failed to honor the invitations, submit written defenses, or attend the disciplinary hearings.
It was further alleged that both members engaged in acts of intimidation, including harassing party members and attempting to influence the withdrawal of petitions filed against them.
“Upon due consideration of the available evidence, the Committees resolved to suspend the members indefinitely, pending further investigation and final determination,” the statement read.
The Ogun APC stressed that the SWC’s ratification of the suspensions underscores its commitment to discipline, internal democracy, and the sanctity of the party’s constitution.
