The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, will be officially crowned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025.

His nomination received the formal approval of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and was further affirmed during a courtesy visit by a state delegation to Oba Ladoja’s Bodija residence on Wednesday.

Confirming the development in a telephone interview with newsmen, the monarch’s media aide, Chief Adeola Oloko, said:

“Oba Ladoja will be enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025.”

The coronation ceremony is expected to take place at the historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan, a traditional venue for major Ibadan royal events.

Ahead of the announcement, Oba Ladoja had hosted a closed-door meeting with the Olubadan-in-Council at his Ondo Street, Old Bodija residence in Ibadan North Local Government on Tuesday. The meeting, which lasted nearly two hours, was his first with the kingmakers since the passing of the immediate past Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
