The Olofin of Isheri, Oba Sulaiman Bamgbade, Ayodele III, has donated a newly constructed High Court and a 20-bed Primary Healthcare Centre to the Ogun State Government as part of efforts to strengthen justice delivery and healthcare access in the state.
Handing over the facilities in Isheri on Friday, the monarch said the projects were conceived to ease the burden of justice administration and improve access to quality medical services for his people.
Oba Bamgbade explained that the High Court, which he personally funded, was built to bring justice closer to residents who previously had to travel long distances to Itori and Ifo for court services.
โJustice and healthcare are the twin pillars of a thriving society. By handing over the Isheri High Court to the Ogun State Judiciary, we are strengthening access to justice for our people,โ he said.
Similarly, the Renewed Hope Primary Healthcare Centre, inaugurated as part of activities marking his 4th coronation anniversary, was designed to address pressing medical needs, particularly for women, children, and the elderly.
โWith this facility, we are prioritising the health and well-being of our people, because only a healthy community can truly prosper. This brings an end to our people having to leave their community in search of medical attention,โ the monarch noted.
He added that strengthening grassroots health facilities would reduce avoidable deaths and ease pressure on tertiary hospitals.
Dignitaries at the event included Ogun State First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun; the Chief Judge of Ogun State, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu; the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire; and the stateโs Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker.
Others were Hon. Tunji Akinosi, Member of the House of Representatives (Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency); Hon. Folawewo Salami, Member of the Ogun State House of Assembly (Ifo II); Hon. Idris Kusimo, Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government; as well as several traditional rulers, community leaders, and indigenes of Isheri.
Oba Bamgbade also renewed his appeal to the Lagos and Ogun State Governments and the Federal Government to support heritage initiatives that preserve the Awori history and identity, while calling for investments to transform Isheri Olofin into a cultural tourism hub and centre for economic empowerment.
