Former Governor of Oyo State, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has been crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The coronation rites were performed on Friday at the Ose Meji Temple in Ibadan South-East Local Government Area, where he was formally installed as Olubadan. Earlier, Ladoja had received the symbolic Akoko leaf at the Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba, Ibadan.
He is scheduled to be officially presented with the staff and instrument of office by Governor Seyi Makinde at the historic Mapo Hall. Reports indicate that Governor Makinde cut short his annual leave on Thursday in order to personally attend the event.
Ladoja ascended the throne following the passing of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who died on Monday, July 7, 2025.
