Senator Ned Nwoko has spoken publicly for the first time following a viral video showing his wife, actress Regina Daniels, in a state of distress, alleging that her recent behavior was influenced by drug and alcohol abuse.

In a statement and short video shared via his verified Instagram account, @princenednwoko, on Sunday, the lawmaker claimed that Daniels had been battling substance addiction, which he said was the cause of the recent turmoil in their marriage.

“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem,” Nwoko wrote. “She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety.”

Nwoko further alleged that the actress had gone on a violent spree at their home during his absence, attacking domestic staff and damaging property.

“She slapped and hit three staff in the past 48 hours and destroyed property, including cars and windows, for no just cause. Now she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs,” he claimed.

The senator added that he had proposed two rehabilitation options for his wife — one in Asokoro, Abuja, and another in Jordan — to help her recover in an environment where she would not have access to drugs.

He also accused some of Regina’s close associates of worsening the situation, particularly one identified as Sammy, whom he described as “her main drug supplier.”

“While I took Moon to the hospital, a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier,” Nwoko alleged.

His remarks came hours after a video showing Regina Daniels in a heated confrontation went viral on Saturday. In the clip, the visibly emotional actress could be heard saying:

“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence — it’s too much.”

Following the viral video, Regina’s brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Danhillman, popularly known as Sammy West, took to Instagram to accuse Nwoko of domestic violence and vowed to defend his sister.

“Anywhere wey man dey beat woman — whether na my sister or not — I go fight with my blood,” he wrote.

As of press time, Regina Daniels and her representatives have not issued any public response to the senator’s allegations, and the exact cause of the altercation remains unclear.

Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko got married in 2019, a union that has often drawn public attention due to the couple’s 40-year age difference and their high-profile status.
