The lawmaker representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, has announced his return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Jibrin made the announcement on Sunday in his hometown of Kofa, Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State, where he formally renounced his membership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement led by former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

In a statement issued on Monday, the lawmaker confirmed his defection, saying his decision was driven by his conviction in President Tinubu’s leadership and vision for Nigeria’s progress.

During the homecoming event, Jibrin was received by thousands of supporters and party loyalists. Over 2,000 Islamic clerics (Ulamas) offered special prayers for President Tinubu, peace, and continued development in Kano State and the nation at large.

Jibrin’s return to the APC comes two months after his expulsion from the NNPP over alleged anti-party activities and non-payment of membership dues.

While expressing appreciation to members of the NNPP for their past support, Jibrin urged his followers to join him in what he described as “a renewed political journey” with the APC.
