The Ogun State Government has announced that it is fast-tracking the prosecution of popular social media personality and disc jockey, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, over a series of road crashes linked to his reckless driving.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Justice on Monday, the government said it is expediting action on the case arising from a November 1, 2025 incident in Sagamu, where DJ Chicken rammed into two motorcycles, seriously injuring a rider and a female passenger.
According to the ministry, the entertainer showed no remorse after the crash and attempted to flee the scene, provoking an angry reaction from bystanders who descended on him before the police intervened. The Ogun State Police Command subsequently opened an investigation while prioritising the victims’ medical care and privacy.
The government revealed that the Sagamu crash is only one in a pattern of repeated road recklessness, noting that on Sunday, November 23, 2025, DJ Chicken was again involved in a lone accident in Lekki, Lagos State — an incident that nearly harmed pedestrians who narrowly escaped injury.
Yesterday’s crash is reportedly the third in two months involving the entertainer behind the wheel.
“While road traffic collisions are often treated as civil wrongs, some road users pose a special danger to society and must be held accountable under criminal law,” the statement read. “Mr Abiodun is one such person. At least two of the crashes were captured on video in real time, and his quick return to dangerous driving after the Sagamu incident has heightened public outcry.”
The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Ogun State, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has therefore directed relevant officers to conclude work on the Sagamu case for immediate arraignment. The ministry added that it is working closely with the police to ensure swift prosecution.
The government assured the public that it will not hesitate to intervene when individuals repeatedly endanger lives on the road.
