Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has been honoured with two prestigious national awards in recognition of his contributions to digital transformation, innovation, and technology-driven governance in Nigeria.

The awards, presented separately by the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) and the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), highlight Governor Abiodun’s leadership in positioning Ogun State as a model for ICT-led development at the sub-national level.

The first honour was conferred on Friday, November 28, by ATCON during its Telecom Excellence Awards held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja. The association praised the governor’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s digital landscape through forward-looking policies and strategic investments. The award was received on his behalf by the Director of Standard Regulations, Planning and Research, Olatundun Anifat Adekunte.

ATCON President, Mr. Tony Izuagbe Emoekpere, noted that the recognition underscores the governor’s efforts in building a digital-friendly environment that drives innovation, job creation, and economic growth.

In a separate ceremony earlier in November at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, Governor Abiodun was named the NCS Tech Champion of the Year at the National Information Technology Merit Awards (NITMA). The Nigeria Computer Society commended his dedication to advancing technological development, strengthening digital governance, and establishing Ogun State as one of the country’s emerging innovation hubs. Mr. Tunde Tijani, Vice Chairman of the NCS Ogun State Chapter, received the award on behalf of the governor.

The back-to-back national recognitions reinforce Governor Abiodun’s vision and steady leadership in deploying technology to drive inclusive development. His administration continues to invest in digital infrastructure, innovation, and ICT-driven public service delivery—initiatives that have positioned Ogun State as a leading example of modern governance in Nigeria.
