The immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Mr Bola Oyebamiji, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2026 election in Osun State.

Oyebamiji was affirmed by the party’s 1,660 delegates at the APC governorship primary, following his nomination by fellow aspirant, Mr Kunle Adegoke, SAN, and secondment by another aspirant, Senator Babajide Omoworare.

Subsequently, the Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee, Governor Monday Okpebholo, subjected the affirmation to a voice vote, which received unanimous approval from the delegates.

Announcing the result, Okpebholo said: “By the powers conferred on me as Chairman of the primary election committee, I hereby declare Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, as the candidate of our great party.”

Oyebamiji will now fly the APC flag in the forthcoming Osun governorship election.
