The Ogun State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Olóyè Akolawole Shoremi, has been inducted as an Anti-Corruption Ambassador of Nigeria and presented with two prestigious awards in recognition of his commitment to good governance, anti-corruption advocacy and youth development.

The honours were conferred by the Organisation of People’s Voice, a member of the ICPC–National Anti-Corruption Coalition (ICPC-NACC), at a ceremony held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta.

Presenting the awards, the State Programmes Coordinator of ICPC-NACC, Mr. Idris Abu, described Shoremi as a public servant with astute leadership qualities and an enduring passion for youth empowerment and integrity in public life.

“Today, we reflect on your remarkable contributions to the fight against corruption across tertiary institutions in Ogun State over a decade ago,” Abu said. “We are pleased to see you sustain a lifestyle of transparency, decency and honesty. These awards are a testament to your tireless service and enviable commitment to a fair and progressive society.”

He urged members of the youth constituency across the state to emulate Shoremi’s principles of integrity, adding that the coalition was proud to associate with his leadership and values.

In his acceptance speech, Shoremi expressed gratitude to the organisers for recognising his past and ongoing efforts, noting that the honour would further strengthen his resolve to promote accountability and justice.

He reaffirmed his commitment to building a just and humane society anchored on transparency, integrity and collective responsibility, particularly among young people.

The awards were initially scheduled to be presented during a three-day anti-corruption programme organised by the coalition and tagged “Your Right, Your Roles,” which held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Hall, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Shoremi was accompanied to the ceremony by the Ogun State Deputy Secretary of the NYCN, Comrade Kehinde Ademuyiwa, and his Chief Protocol Officer, Comrade Samsideen Bakare.
