The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of Nollywood actress and film producer, Allwell Ademola.

Ademola reportedly passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the age of 43, sending shockwaves across the entertainment industry and beyond.

Sources close to the family disclosed that the actress was rushed to Ancilla Hospital in Agege, Lagos, by a neighbour after she suddenly collapsed at her residence. She was pronounced dead on arrival.

Although an official cause of death has yet to be confirmed, reports suggest that she may have suffered a heart attack.

Her death has come as a painful surprise to fans and colleagues, especially as she was active on social media less than 24 hours before her passing, sharing posts that showed no sign of ill health.

As of the time of filing this report, the news of her demise is still being received with disbelief among friends and industry colleagues, many of whom are struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss.

Allwell Ademola was the granddaughter of the late Sir Adetokunbo Ademola, a renowned Nigerian jurist and former Chief Justice of Nigeria. Beyond her on-screen performances, she distinguished herself as a producer, with several notable film projects to her credit.

She was also widely respected for her role in mentoring and supporting emerging talents within Nollywood, contributing significantly to the growth of actors such as Rotimi Salami.
Tributes are expected to continue pouring in from across the entertainment industry as Nollywood mourns the untimely passing of one of its dedicated creatives.
