The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State has declared that it will abide by whatever political direction the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, gives concerning the 2027 general elections in the state.

The APC chairman in the local government area, Mr Rejoice Otobo, made the declaration on Sunday during Wike’s “thank you” visit to the area.

Otobo assured the minister of the party’s loyalty, saying the people of Ahoada West would stand firmly with him in appreciation of the projects and support he has attracted to the area.

“We await instructions from you on the 2027 elections concerning Rivers State. Wherever you ask us to go, there we shall go; whatever you ask us to do is what we will do.

All the good and the bad people of this local government have resolved that wherever you lead us is where we will go,” Otobo said.

Similarly, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the local government, Mr Ikechukwu Obuzor, pledged complete loyalty to Wike, describing him as a source of renewed hope for the people.

“We are standing firm with you. Wherever you go, we will go. Be assured that come 2027, Ahoada West will deliver the needed results for you,” Obuzor said.

Earlier, the Chairman of Ahoada Local Government Council, Mr Chita Eugene, described Wike as the “political field marshal of the South-South,” praising him for what he called unprecedented development across Rivers State.

Eugene said the visit was more than a courtesy call, describing it as a celebration of effective leadership and impactful public service.
Also speaking, the member of the House of Representatives representing Ahoada West/Ogba–Egbema–Ndoni Federal Constituency, Mr Victor Obuzor, said Wike deserved the continued support of the people, citing his developmental strides as governor of Rivers State.

In the same vein, the Seyi Tinubu Support Group, led by Mr Chidi Amadi, pledged its support for Wike and the re-election of President Bola Tinubu for a second term.

In his remarks, Wike said he was in Ahoada West to express gratitude to the people for the overwhelming support given to him and President Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.

He said Rivers State had once been respected nationwide for its strong stance on good governance but lost that reputation due to what he described as poor leadership.

The minister, who maintained that Governor Siminalayi Fubara should not be voted for a second term, stressed the need to “correct the leadership mistake” in the state during the 2027 elections.

“Rivers State is already being respected again because of what we are doing in the FCT. We need a leader we can trust to drive our dear state to glory and progress,” Wike said.
