The Ogun State Government says construction work on the Lagos–Abeokuta Road is progressing steadily, with intensified activities ongoing across major sections of the corridor.
The road project, being executed under the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun, is currently active in areas including Itori, Papalanto, Ifo and other adjoining communities, with construction advancing towards the Sango axis.
At Ewekoro, contractors are carrying out rigid pavement construction on the left-hand side of the road, alongside reinforced concrete drainage works in front of the Lafarge Cement factory.
Similar rigid pavement works are also ongoing at the GPC axis along the Ewekoro–Papalanto stretch on the right-hand side.
In Sango Ota, asphalt laying of both the binder and wearing courses has been completed in front of the Matrix petrol station on the right-hand side, while the wearing course has also been laid on the outer lane at Obada Oko.
Further along the route, grading and compaction of the sub-base course are underway around the Itori Police Station axis, with quality laterite currently being spread on another section of the Itori corridor. At Iyana Ilogbo, spreading and compaction of the sub-base course are also progressing steadily.
The state government said the sustained pace of work reflects its commitment to delivering a durable and high-quality Lagos–Abeokuta Road that will ease traffic congestion, improve safety, and enhance socio-economic activities across Ogun State.
