A group of Ijebu Muslim professionals has endorsed the Ogun State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Abdulrahman Dapo Okubadejo, as a suitable deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group, led by its president, Sherik Abdulazeez Malik Odumosun, made its position known during a media briefing, where it outlined reasons for supporting Okubadejo’s emergence on a joint ticket with Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi).

Odumosun described Okubadejo as a tested administrator with a track record of effective leadership and grassroots development, particularly through his contributions to infrastructure growth across Ijebu land.

He noted that road projects executed under Okubadejo’s supervision have improved connectivity and stimulated economic activities in the region, earning him widespread commendation from residents.

The group also praised the commissioner’s commitment to youth empowerment, citing initiatives in skills acquisition, ICT training, financial support, and job creation, which it said have positively impacted many young people.

On security, Odumosun commended Okubadejo for supporting security agencies with operational vehicles, a move he said has strengthened efforts to address emerging threats across Ijebu communities.

He further described the commissioner as a bridge between the people and government, highlighting his role in facilitating access to opportunities at the federal, state, and local government levels.

According to him, Okubadejo remains one of the most accessible public office holders in the state, with a leadership style that has translated into tangible and impactful results.

The group urged APC stakeholders and the general public to consider an Adeola–Okubadejo ticket, stressing that such a pairing would promote balanced representation and sustain developmental strides in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 elections.
